Sunday 4 October | Goodison Park

After a dramatic week, it’s back to WSL action for Birmingham City Women as we head to Goodison Park to face Everton.

We’ve already played Everton at Goodison this season, going down 2-0 in the League Cup, so there’s no doubt the Blues will be determined to put that right this time around.

Birmingham come into the game still searching for that first league win, but there have been plenty of positives. The 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace showed just how much attacking threat we have, with Océane Hurtré continuing her excellent start to the season with another two goals.

There’s plenty of firepower in this Blues side, but the big challenge will be tightening things up at the back. We’ve conceded too many goals in recent games, and Everton will be looking to exploit that.

Everton themselves lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the derby last weekend, so both teams will be looking to bounce back.

For me, the key is simple: be brave, be clinical and don’t give Everton an easy ride. We’ve already seen that we can create chances against WSL opposition — now we need to turn those performances into three points.

It won’t be easy, but after the disappointment of the League Cup defeat and Wednesday night’s heartbreak against Liverpool, there’s no better time for the Blues to respond.

Come on, Birmingham! 💙

Prediction: Everton 1-2 Birmingham City
